Capnography + CPAP: Making the best better

CPAP reduces the need for intubation by more than 70 percent, and reduces the mortality rate from 25 percent without it to 8 percent with it. The AHA recognizes that capnography is not just for ventilation, but also provides vital information regarding perfusion. So how can the two be used together and significantly help the patient?

 New CPAP valve saves valuable time and space

A new, adjustable CPAP valve allows EMS providers to change CPAP pressure settings on the fly. Pulmodyne’s 3-SET valve, now available in the field, allows providers to titrate the level of CPAP by simply rotating a dial. By consolidating the pressure settings, EMS providers can deliver appropriate patient care without interruption and eliminate the need for additional equipment or supplies.
