Interstate crash in Md. after motorcade passes; 1 dead
FREDERICK, Md. — Police say several vehicles have crashed at the intersection of two interstates in Maryland after a motorcade from Washington, D.C., passed through.
State Police spokeswoman Elena Russo says at least one person is dead, but the motorcade was not involved in the accident Wednesday. The motorcade was headed to West Virginia. Russo says she didn't know who was in it.
State Police Lt. Wayne Wachsmuth tells The Frederick News-Post that two dump trucks and a passenger car had stopped to allow the motorcade to pass, and a third dump truck rear-ended the car.
The crash was at the intersection of interstates 70 and 270 near Frederick.
