Medic delivers baby in ambulance at busy intersection

CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Matthew DeMarse won't forget March 4, 2014.

The LIFE EMS paramedic was dispatched about 12:10 p.m. to the 28th Street exit just off I-96, where a woman was going into labor.

Just 17 minutes later, DeMarse was in the back of the ambulance delivering little Levi Dock, the infant son of Jeff and Emily Dock of the Middleville area. The parents gave Levi the middle name "Matthew" in honor of the paramedic who guided them through a tough situation.
