Okla. woman punches medic, arrested for assault and battery

TULSA, Okla. — A woman was jailed over the weekend after allegedly assaulting a paramedic who was treating her.

KJRH reported that Rachel Carson, 28, was arrested early Sunday morning for assault and battery on an EMT.

According to the police report, medics were called to a QuikTrip around 2 a.m. for a possible seizure, and upon arrival they found Carson sitting in the passenger seat of a truck.

A medic evaluated Carson and told police she did not appear to be having a seizure but admitted to drinking that evening, according to the report. Carson then called the medic an obscenity and said “she wanted to punch him,” but he advised she would go to jail if she did, according to the report.

Carson then swung her fist at the medic, hitting him in the left side of the face and was later arrested and booked into a county jail on a $5,000 bond, according to the report.
